Four!
For four years, I've been blogging about Knitting Things...
...and about the People...
...Places...
...and Things...
...that matter to me, or amuse me, or catch my eye, or make me happy. It's been a pretty great four years.
I'd been thinking about letting the blog go, but I think I'll hang on a bit longer. I gotta tell ya, it's been tough lately. I'm been feeling more guarded and self-conscious, less willing to share, more afraid of being hurt, not always happy with what's going on in my life or how I'm reacting to it -- much of which doesn't even show up here, actually, but it shows nonetheless -- flip-flop, wishy-washy, what-am-I-doing-with-my-life, almost-middle-age, probably-post-menopausal angst anyone? Geez, it's worse than being a teenager -- at least then I could hit Mom up for money.
So thanks for hanging in there, reading and commenting when I so clearly suck at responding and/or reciprocating. I never have blogged with a plan, and never will, it's just not me, so I have no idea where it's going to go -- probably many of the same places it's been. I do have some definite ideas about NEW people to see, places to go, things to experience. Sadly, none of it involves an old hardware store; happily, I've realized that the biggest of my desires attached to that dream is to live and work in the same place -- for a wide variety of reasons, not the least of which is the cost of transportation. With all that in mind, new things will likely include a motorized scooter and a camera upgrade, some revamping and redecorating around home, and I'll probably continue to take a class or two about... maybe something new.
Four more years???
I'm not ready to give up reading Vicki's posts....at LEAST four more years, friend.

I would miss you terribly if you weren't here in our corner of the internets. I'm glad to know you, Vicki.

Aye-aye! I'm not ready for you to go away either! It's your blog and if you want to be wishy-washy or not...open or closed... it's up to you. I'm sure there are a bunch of us that will keep coming around until you figure it out.

Happy Blogiversary Vicki,
I love reading your blog. Your life seems so different from mine in some ways, and similar in others, which is why I love reading about it.
Sometimes we just need a little "privacy" in our writing. I've been doing a little of that - not blogging the things that are going on that I don't feel ready to or may never share. And sometimes, that's when I have the most fun with my blog. (it could also explain the gum posts.)

F...for FOUR!! Keep up the blog, since I'm a newish reader, I'm just now getting to know you!

"Oh won't you stay, ay, ay, just a little bit longer? Please, please saaaay, say you will. (Say you will!)"
Apologies to Jackson Browne!
4 years is a long time. I didn't even stay married to my first husband that long. A lot has changed in that time and you've weathered it all. And in the process, you have touched people in the places that matter the most - their hearts and their souls. Nothing you decide to do can take that experience away from you or us. So, thank you for our four years, and yes, selfishly: "please ma'am, may we have some more?"

Happy blogiversary Vicki! Great pictorial retrospective. I understand the crappy angst although for entirely different reasons (wasting my life being chronically ill, etc), and I do hope that you can find a more peaceful place, whatever/however. I do enjoy your blog and posts very much and really appreciate the glimpses into your life, thanks for sharing...

Happy Blogiversay, Vicki. The journey has been fun and interesting. I expect that it will continue to be no matter how or what you want to share here. I have no expectations except that if you post, I will read. :D Happy Spring.

Happy Blogiversary!
You were one of the first knitting blogs I found - and then I started my own. I think everyone goes through the Blog Blahs occasionally.
But what's four more between friends?
I love the mosaics.
( I think I've said that line in these comments before, yes?)

What a wonderful photo essay! I have to say that I love it each and every time I drop by, just as if we lived next door (and I probably wouldn't see all that much more of you if we did, given the hectic pace of our mutual lives). I will be glad if you decide to hang around a bit more... Happy Blogiversary!

Vicki--
Congratulations on four years of blogging. This is my very first comment, but know that I check in here for my Wisconsin "fix". Your Williamsro continues to be my inspiration piece as I prepare for my move from Southern California to NEWI. Just as soon as we are in escrow I am going to celebrate with a trip to my LYS to purchase yarn for this long admired project!
That hardware store is just crying out for coffee, pastries, yarn and a couple of apartments upstairs! Will Peter and Lou Barryman be playing in the background?

Hell, let's turn it into a menopause blog, then. What the hell! (I bet there ARE those, haha!)
"Hot Flash Friday." "Moaning Monday."
"Terrible Tuesday," "Skipped My Period Thursday." We'll keep WTF Wednesday. Hee.

Isn't it surprising sometimes what we learn about ourselves when we explore our dreams and what they really are? Happy Blogiversary and may the blog take you where you'd like it to go.

Vicki, I don't always comment, but I love your blog. I've so enjoyed learning about your family and watching your works in progress. I feel like you're a friend, even though we've only talked a few moments in person. (Hope that's not weird to you.) You inspire me in so many ways. Thanks for putting yourself out there for us.
Many hugs and congrats on writing for 4 years!

Happy (belated) blogiversary! Please don't leave!
This post-menopausal time of time can be very angst-ridden--but wonderful also! I feel as if I'm finally, at long last starting to "find myself." For me, 50 is the new 15!

You say you haven't been the best at blogging but I haven't been the best at visiting either, so I guess we are square! :-)
