Then: 1984 at the sink in our kitchen at Cape Kiwanda, Pacific City, OR. He built the house. I first watched -- and then helped -- him finish it, and also eventually moved in. We were married in that house 26 years and a coupla weeks ago. We still have many of those jars behind him, the contents (flour, oatmeal, brown rice, and sugar) used up and refilled many times over the years.
Now: 2011 in the kitchen of our 125-year-old our northeast Wisconsin home. We've lived and improved (hopefully, ourselves as well as our house) here for almost 24 years and, most importantly, raised and loved our three girls here. The kitchen jars can almost barely be made out behind the glass doors.
Keeping something new going.
