It was a very busy weekend here, including a visit by the nephews! My sis wanted some 2-year photos of her youngest. He's wearing an adorable little outfit that my mom brought back from Italy. I'd already resorted to bribery here and given him a Pez (from the Lion King "Pumba" dispenser in my hot shoe), but he dropped it and couldn't find it (it's pink and barely visible under the laces on the shoe in the foreground)!!
Yes, we also sang Hakuna Matata!

This was the quickest session ever -- and most of the time, when there's a fresh-from-a-nap, just-been-fed 11-month-old involved, that's the way it's going to be! I love it. Little M is on his way right out of the picture and the big kids know that isn't good. Haha! (Click on the photo to "embiggen.")
It was a great shoot -- the kids were all FANTASTIC (as were Mom & Dad) -- and the setting (their back yard) was wonderful! Thanks for having me over. It's just a little teaser for you, Sarah. I know you're excited to see them all!! I'm aiming to have the gallery up by Wednesday. Hold tight!

We've been dealing with bad news about one of my twin sisters and cancer for the past 8-9 months. She's undergone chemotherapy and radiation, lost her hair and a lot of weight, came through it all okay and without getting terribly sick, and it was looking pretty good for a while. She called me with some not great news on Tuesday. One of the ways I deal with that type of thing, I guess, is to take pictures of flowers and play around in Photoshop with layers and brushes, modes and opacity, brushes and masks to reveal certain things while keeping others hidden. How many million metaphors can you find in there?
I am looking forward to a weekend away, including some time with ALL of my sisters, and a Sunday morning photo shoot! I can't wait to see how much M has grown!

Took a Sunday drive to the Lake Michigan shore on Sunday afternoon. We drove out to a beach between Two Rivers and Kewaunee, then up to Kewaunee, Algoma, and Sturgeon Bay. These are some images along the way. (It was a gorgeous day!)

Hamachek Hall is part of Hamachek Village which is part of Kewaunee Renaissance. Pretty cool. I really liked Kewaunee.
