These are a result of the baby session I did in April -- the baby girl and her parents, above; and the baby's cousin, left.
I was expecting to photograph only the baby and her parents, and didn't learn until nearly last minute that the cousin and her mother would also be there -- which is fine. Isn't she gorgeous?
Not only that... my sister was going to be there, because she was driving, but truly last minute and almost throwing me for a loop, her husband and two young sons came along!
I was nervous about taking photos, nervous about my new camera, and nervous about SO MANY PEOPLE (especially little ones), but this went so much better than I could have imagined.
In looking back, I think having so many people around (all familiar with each other) and so much going on was a terrific distraction for the main subjects! They were more focused on other things (most of the time) than they were on the weird lady with the camera.
I ended up with a few more "snapshots" than I'd like -- some worse than others -- but I think I ended up with some really good photographs, too. I like them. The customers liked them. The customers' parents liked them. What's not to like?
