The table legs and frame around the top are made of cedar. The table top is a thick piece of exterior grade plywood onto which I drew my design and then glued down the pieces. I often felt that I was putting together a puzzle, but I had no picture and could do what I wanted! I would lay out a section and then glue it down, and sometimes I'd end up with an extra piece or have to scramble to fill in a space that suddenly appeared. I used a glue that I got at the hardware store -- it was white, but dried clear, and was suitable for both wood and glass or china. Among other things that I "had" to include in this table was something with a pansy. I have a nice collection of old prints and postcards, a couple of jardinieres, some tins, and lots more, all featuring pansies.
