My sister gave me this sweater a few years ago at Christmas. I've always wanted to replace the buttons (and sew them so the top checkerboard border lines up correctly), but it's not an easy task.
I know that it's made up of mercerized cotton and that the pattern is likely from Vogue Knitting, but that's all I know. She did a fabulous job and it's a sweater that I enjoy wearing in springtime.
There are no cherries on the upper left sleeve, as the pattern called for; my sis thought that the eye needed a place to rest!
When I have the opportunity, I love to share that this sweater was knit by the sister who nearly failed Home Ec because she didn't have the patience required to insert a zipper into a skirt. I think she found some patience since then.
