Today

Photo4
Even though they weren't planning to fly home on Christmas Eve, I am so very happy that they are... and I can't wait to hug them.

No words about today's tragedy in Connecticut, only heartbreak and tears.

This has helped to ground me today:

“When I was a boy and I would see scary things in the news, my mother would say to me, 'Look for the helpers. You will always find people who are helping.' To this day, especially in times of 'disaster,' I remember my mother’s words and I am always comforted by realizing that there are still so many helpers – so many caring people in this world.” --Mr. Rogers

I'm glad you started this with a happy thought. LOVE the advice from Mr Rogers (via your mom). true and helpful words. hope you're having a peaceful weekend!

I just read that Fred Rogers quote on Facebook and it gave me hope. There are good people in the world and they do outnumber the bad ones.

Someone else said that to me today. Seeing people care, people who give all they can, grows hope.

The Fred Rogers' quote is the best thing I've heard all day. Your mom seems very wise. Thank You for the thought.

(I'm sure that my 15 year old son thought that I was being "his weird mom" but I was so grateful to see him walking down the hill after getting off the bus yesterday and I had to give him a tight hug)

Er.. rather his mom, but I'm sure yours too! :) (Reminder to self, read closely before commenting)

So glad your family is coming home for the holidays. I am having difficulty comprehending the tragedy that happened in Connecticut on Friday. Every time I think I don't have any tears left, I cry again. Life is so precious.

Thanks for the quote, Vicki. My heart always goes out to first responders, who see the worst and give their best.
