It smells like worms

I could eat a cow

So I'm not Matthew McConaughey's hugest fan -- it depends.  When his hair's a little long and curly and he's a little scruffy in jeans and a t-shirt (or no shirt)... oh yeah.  When the wry little smile gets goin' with the twinkle in th eye AND there's the scruffy... pant, pant, pant yeah, yeah, yeah.  When he's all slicked up, to the nines, clean and polished... not so much.  I have no idea what he looks like as he's doing the voice-over for the BEEF, IT'S WHAT'S FOR DINNER commercials -- and doing a fine job in the unfillable shoes of Jack Palance, by the way -- but that voice!  Holy cow!!

That commercial played over and over on the radio at work yesterday and it grabbed me every time!  By the end of the day, I wanted to eat a cow.

But this is Wisconsin, land of the Friday night fish fry -- though not so much since Vatican II except during Lent -- so I had perch lunch, instead.

And if Matthew McConaughey hawking beef is not enough, now John Corbett (I like him best when he's a little scruffy, too) is doing Applebee's commercials...

What diet?

But I miss Sam Elliot as the voice of "Beef". Those low, gravel tones really knocked me out. Matthew is cute, but after seeing interviews with him, there doesn't seem to be a lot going on upstairs. Sorry.

If either of them said "Eat glass" I'd be doing it!

Are you my long lost sister, Vicki?! My thoughts exactly about Matthew M. and John C. Oh. My. Word. Let there be beef.

I suddenly have an intense and mysterious craving for beef too...

I have not seen this commercial,and perhaps it's a good thing I haven't. heh. :D

Friday night fish fry sounds yummy!

hahahahah... too funny. Now I'll have to stop listening to CD's while I drive, just to try and hear that commercial once. You are such a funny lady :-) (in a good way)

Oh the power of advertising! ... in the UK, we have Jason Lewis advertising Aero chocolate (at least I think that's what he advertises, possibly I was not concentrating fully on the product! ;)

I like to play a little game called "name that celebrity voice-over" which drives my family insane sometimes - I bet you'd be a formidable opponent.

Yes on Corbett (especially in Chris in the Morning mode), steak, and fried fish (any day of the week, mmm, and with chips, please!) But no on McConaughey, whether clean or scruffy. He just doesn't do it for me. Oh well, right? To each our own eye candy. ;-)

cheesehead with sticks

Ha! I would also eat glass if Matthew McConaughey looked at me with those wonderful blue eyes and gave me that smile and then opened his mouth and made those beautiful sounds that formed the words "Eat Glass".

In fact, I'm giddy just thinking about it. Now, I need to find me that commercial to listen to!

I'd eat anything John Corbett was hawking. He just keeps getting better as he ages, if that's possible.
