It's super...

Super International Pajama Day!!!  (NOT laundry day at the convent, Ann, though that comment still cracks us up 'round here -- and I'd sure like to know the nun who claims the hot pink one!)

YAY!!!  Whatever shall I wear?

As you can see, there are ZERO degrees of separation this morning, which is better than the MINUS EIGHT at bedtime last night and I'm not factoring in windchill.  Right now, I am wearing one of those nightgowns, along with a robe and very warm socks, but I shall soon be changing into something with a little more leg coverage.

This is so funny...  My mother had extended an invitation for Super Bowl and I declined -- because of the cold, for one thing, but I also told her (because I knew that she would get it) that I planned to spend the day in my pajamas.  So I was talking to one of my sisters on the phone yesterday and she asked about my plans for today and I told her about the all-day pajamas and she said, "Oh yeah, Mom told me that she's doing that, too!"

I ended up making scalloped potatoes and ham again last night, just as delicious as it was a couple of weeks ago.  We had it with fresh bread from the machine which we spread with chopped kalamata olvies and olive oil.  Yum.  Tonight, I'm making Braised Pork Chops as seen on Martha Stewart (video here -- also a cute one here from Ellen) with delightful Biscuit Lady Carol Fay from Nashville's Loveless Cafe.  I'll also be making biscuits, but not the biscuits, because that's a secret recipe.  ; )

I started sewing up Coup d'Etat yesterday and am nearly ready to start side seams.  I'm concerned that it's going to be tight under the arms -- perhaps the sleeves could have been bigger, perhaps I could have blocked them with a little more vigor -- I'll know later today.  I'm thinking that I may end up knitting and sewing in some gussets.

I also worked on my Latvian Mitten!  I'm working on the third braid and it was to the point where I was ripping back more than knitting, so it was time to put it down.  There's progress, though, and I should be introducing the third color today.  ; )

I had some news in regard to the situation to which I referred the other day and, while it is still quite serious -- and will be forever, for a lifetime -- it does not appear to be as devastating in some of the ways that had been feared.  That's all I'm going to say on that.  Good thoughts, always, of course; and thank you for yours.

I would join in International Pajama Day, but it's currently -9 here, without the windchill, and I have to leave the house later. I'll join in spirit, though- I'm wearing comfy wool socks, a huge sweater, and my around-the-house dress, which is super close to a nightgown. I'll throw on pants, etc... to take my daughter to skating lessons and the grocery store. Does that count close enough?

Oh, how I wish I could have had the guts to tall my inlaws I would not be coming to dinner because I was staying in my pajamas. I will be with you in spirit alone. Pouting.
I can't wait to see your latvian mittens. It's been a while since I knit on mittens and I miss them!

Sending good seaming mojo your way. I hope the too-tight underarms does not turn out to be a reality. Looking at the design of that sweater (the one on the model), I would never have thought that would be an issue. I was just wondering about that sweater (yours) last night as I was perusing their website. Am anxious to see how it turns out, as I'd like to put that one in my queue, I think.

A little too chilly here in the north for jammies today: -24˚ at 10am, and it's all the way up to -22˚ now at 3 pm. Enjoy yourself, your jammies, and all that yummy FOOD!

i am still in my pjs its 557 pm and i didnt get out of them allll day - including taking the garbage can out to the curb BRRRR its -1 wind chill right now. and supposed to get to around 1 degrees tonight.

no photo (sorry). but i have on woolie long pants and a woolie crewneck top and a long wool sweater on top - all black and heavy wool socks (made for hikers sorry, not handmade) and my warm red fleece robe.

and heading back to the sofa for more of POIROT on BIO channel - in their all day marathon YAH

I, too, love the photos of your lovely nightgowns. I tend to be a t-shirt nightie girl myself but if I look at those photos anymore I am sure I'll have a nightgown in my dresser before I know it! I'm not in PJs today since it is soooo cold but I am wearing "relaxing" wear as a compromise.

You know, I skipped pajama day yesterday because I had to go to spinning guild, though I ALMOST wore my pajamas to guild in the spirit of the day. Almost being the operative word - it was far too cold to wear pajamas out!
Glad to hear its warming up. Kids have school cancelled here in upstate NY this morning due to the cold, and Richard's mom reports that on the Menominee Rez yesterday, the wind chill got as low as 50 below or something totally obscene, but not unheard of for northern Wisconsin.

I think I'm making mac & cheese today with leftover ham from last night's supper. Gotta warm up the house! Brrr!

If I could have stayed home, I would definitely have stayed in my pajamas all day long. Definitely. As it was, however, I had to be out and about – but rest assured, I was in a pajama state of mind. That must count, right?

It’s frigid cold here in southern ‘sconsin today, too. Ugh. They called off almost all of the schools – even Madison, which almost never happens. I hope you are staying warm!!
