Breakfast of champions

Dsc06484_1...champion KNITTERS, that is.

Okay, I may as well run with it, so spill -- oops! -- but watch the milk!  Heh, maybe this'll turn into something fun...

What's your favorite breakfast?

Mine isn't really Cheerios & Bananas, it's just the only breakfasty picture I've got.  I love cereal!  Cereal -- almost any kind -- is my favorite, anytime, I-don't-know-what-I-want meal and the perfect snack.  I know that man cannot live on cereal alone, but how about cereal and sub sandwiches?

And the occasional seafood dinner?  And soup.  And cake.

Okay, okay, but we're talkin' breakfast here.  I'm actually not a big breakfast eater, and that's probably my #2 downfall in regards to WW (#1 would be physical activity, or lack thereof).  I usually get up, have my coffee, and maybe I'll eat something at around 10:30, but just as often it gets to be 11:30 and then I'm thinking more in terms of lunch -- which could easily be cereal.  See?  When at work, I often have a small yogurt about mid-morning, sometimes with fruit.

If I had to pick a favorite breakfast right now -- say someone asked me, like it was my birthday or something -- I'd have to say Red River 'N Oats Pancakes.  Oh, they are delicious, but you've got to plan ahead -- so we often have them for supper instead.

Yeah, breakfast... it's not just for breakfast anymore!  Tell me what you like.

Favorite breakfast meal, eh? I'm not like my husband who loves to have a big-heavy-breakfast. Coffee is the most important thing. I may add a Kashi bar. I'm liking the new Grape Nuts Chewy cereal. And, I learned from a Weight Watcher post to try Cream of Wheat with sliced bananas on it. I guess you just asked for ONE favorite didn't you? I seem to have several despite the fact that I'm NOT a breakfast person!

Yummo..I LOVE Golden Grahams and my weakest point is around 2am when I just HAVE to have a bowl....in bed....with knitting...and kitty cat....and hubby...what more can anyone ask for LOL

My day always starts with a glass of Greens.
Muesli bagel, toasted with honey, cherry juice and tea is a favourite.
The norm is usually spelt toast or a homemade muffin or a poached egg. I'm definitely not a cereal girl. I do love hot oatmeal, though with bananas, raisins and maple syrup.
Saturday is market day so we have a continental breakfast with fresh pastries.
The Sunday family standard: cinnamon applesauce crepes. Why I started this, I don't know; I get the feeling I may have spoiled them.
You can join us anytime, just call ahead!

I love breakfast! But real breakfast, bacon, sausage, eggs, hash browns, pancakes, biscuits, etc. Think Denny's Meat Lovers Breakfast - the works. Of course I only get this breakfast on the occasional weekend morning when I can get the family to get up. Sometimes I cook breakfast for dinner. And a bacon and fried egg sandwich is my favorite comfort food since I was a kid. I eat cereal during the week,it's easier. Sometimes Instant Breakfast - I started that in high school. Now I am starving.

My favorite breakfast? Too many choices! I love making breakfast foods! This past weekend we had baked oatmeal with cranberries and pecans, and spiced pumpkin-apple muffins. I love making a mess of scrambled eggs with veggies and cheese, hash browns, bacon... pancakes, coffee cake, scones... I could go on and on. Coffee is a must, fruit alongside is nice, juice is a plus. My kiddos eat my breakfasts pretty well, and I've been known to make breakfast for supper. Mmm- sounds good to me!

I'm so glad you posted the link for the Red River pancakes and I will get some other recipes from there. I love whole grain/multi grain, real food like that and my best friend introduced me to Red River years ago when we were roomies. Thanks for stopping in at my blog and commenting a month or two ago when we were going through tough times.

Bagel, cream cheese and lox with all the trimmings. Second fave? Hash browns and ham. Mmmmmm 'taters.

Generally I don't eat breakfast but don't expect any sensible conversation till I have had some coffee.
In Scotland I love to have bacon, sausage, tattie scone, egg, black pudding, fruit pudding, fried mushrooms etc, good job I don't live there anymore and only get to eat all that a couple of times a year, here a warm chocolate croissant and good coffee, though bacon and fried egg sandwiches are our comfort food here, for wet weekends when we miss home!

Mmm, breakfast. My faves are either an onion bagel with cream cheese (LOTS of cream cheese) or scrambled eggs buried in black beans, salsa, and cheese. Hearty, hearty!

About two years ago I started working with a Personal Trainer so I had to start eating breakfast. I usually just had tea, sometimes lunch, then I would graze from dinner to bedtime. I learned to eat breakfast, then small meals every 3-4 hours. It seems to work for me. My favorite breakfast is oatmeal made with skim milk, splenda, and blueberries. It is kind of like eating a blueberry muffin. (Work with me here!) If I could, I would eat a Krispy Kreme donut every single morning!!!

We have breakfast for dinner all the time! Usually omelets - but the other day I made blueberry pancakes for G.

And I never eat breakfast. It really is bad.

Oatmeal, cooked in the micro with 1/2 a small banana sliced up in it. Add light soymilk, splenda, and fat-free cottage cheese. YUM.

What? Don't look at me like that - it's delicious!

I wake up STARVING at 5am every morning - if I didn't have breakfast, I'd never make it to work. I have to eat every 3 hours or so due to low blood sugar, so I'm ready for a snack at 8:30, then lunch at 11:30, then a snack at 2:30, dinner at 5:30, snack/dessert at 8:00pm... I eat all day long! ;-)

I am so hungry. Let's see breakfast. I can eat most any cereal at any time of day with or without milk but that's not my favorite. I like a good muffin particularly carrot with cream cheese frosting but again not my favorite. My favorite is homemade English muffin bread with real butter and homemade strawberry jam. Now if I just had some...

I hate most breakfast foods, so I am really going to show my true colors here. I love cold lasagna for breakfast! With coffee.

I'm pretty weird in the breakfast dept., loving to have french toast and bacon for dinner (or a similar 'usual' breakfast meal) at least once a month, and steamed broccoli with pesto sauce is one of my favorite breakfasts, or some nice scottish oatmeal with raisins, dried cranberries, fresh berries, maple syrup - you get the idea, lots of toppings.

I like dinner leftovers for breakfast. Cold pizza, mac 'n cheese, take out leftovers, whatever's in the fridge is good for me!

I usually have coke and pretzels, but when I'm in Louisiana, I'll have king cake, and in L.A., I have Mrs. Beasley's lemon mini muffins.

Honestly? Oatmeal. Quaker Old-fashioned Oats, cooked in a pot on the stove for 5 minutes. For the weekend, to "dress it up" a little, I'll brown the oats in a little butter before I add the water, and the sprinkle on a little sugar, but otherwise . . . just plain, with a dash of milk.

That's not to say I don't enjoy pancakes or eggs once in a while, but . . . about 350 days of the year, oatmeal is it.

(And, I love steel-cut oats, too, but they just take too long...)

LOL. Well, we really started something, didn't we. I have one question: Why does Lauren not weigh 1300 pounds? That girl eats JUNK!

Well, I already told you this in an email. I just love to eat. And I'll eat almost anything for breakfast. I love breakfast foods, or even non-breakfast foods, for breakfast!

I had a friend in England who cracked me up once by saying (and I agreed with her), "I can't wait to go to bed at night, because that means it's almost time to get up for breakfast!" LOL

I like all the regular stuff- oatmeal, cereal, yogurt, what have you. But I have to say, those rare mornings when it's available, cold pizza is the end all-be all of the perfect breakfast. That's it, contest over. Cold pizza. You heard it here first.

Plain or cinnamon raisin bagel, toasted, with plain cream cheese sprinkled with cinnamon sugar. Toasted English muffin with Rose's lime marmalade or Robertson's lemon curd. Oatmeal with brown sugar and chopped apples and cinnamon. Breadshop brand granola, which has freeze-dried strawberries, blueberries, or raspberries. A full English breakfast with eggs over easy or sunny-side up, bacon or ham, fried mushrooms, and fried tomatoes. Blueberry pancakes. Waffles made from scratch with warm maple syrup. Hashbrowns. Lime yogurt. Pumpkin yogurt. Leftovers from last night's dinner. A chocolate chocolate chip muffin from Sam's Club. Onion bagel, toasted, with vegie cream cheese.

Yum, breakfast.

The best thing ever about breakfast cereal would be the Rice Crispy treats but use Lucky Charms instead of the Rice Crispies! It's a portable breakfast and an easy thing to eat while driving (a sin I know).

DITTO!! Cereal is by far the best "I'm hungry don't know what to have" food. I rarely eat cereal at breakfast, but lunch, dinner, mid-day snack, mid-night snack are all game. If given the choice I would prefer to go out for breakfast/brunch than dinner. I enjoy breakfast more for dinner because like you I can't eat breakfast. My kids love pancakes at dinner but my husband thinks we're crazy. It has all four food groups...what's the problem???? Apparently he lead a sheltered childhood!!! ;-)

My Sunday tradition - waffles with blueberries, raspberries, and strawberries and a little powdered sugar or hubby's Saturday Tradition of homemade breakfast burritos with mil homeade ranchero sauce and tortillas. But I love me somem appplejacks, Boo-berry, or Fruity Pebbles.

waffles!

OK, so I'm strange, because I'm totally with Debbie B on the cottage cheese in oatmeal (-soymilk.) 'Cept I also love it with peaches and maple syrup.

My favorite indulgent breakfast (so maybe a couple times a year) is pancakes made from Bisquick made thick so it's still a little undercooked in the center with peanut butter and syrup. YUM! Memories of Dad and all that are the bonus.

Normal breakfast is cottage cheese and fruit or a little yogurt, or a few handfuls of Cinnamon Life straight from the box, but always COFFEE with a little coffee mate creamer (caramel!) and a splash of milk.

M-m-m-m-m-m-m-m. Breakfast. Oatmeal pancakes, no, eggs over easy, no, crepes and berries, Hell. I like them all best. Dang it, now I'm hungry. Off to forage.

I actually love Cheerios and bananas although my typical breakfast is a muffin and coffee. Weekends are for pancakes and turkey bacon.

Ahh.. according to WW I should be loving my cereal too...
Everyday, I eat Barbara brand Peanut Butter Puffins (organic, low sugar, high fiber) with a small banana. and skim milk. it gets me through. What do I love? oatmeal with cranberries and honey and strawberry jam in it. :) and I am a huge fan of "wknd breakfast..."--- eggs, bacon, toast, juice.

I have four letters for you - IHOP.

If time were no object, I would have hashbrowns every morning. I make WICKED good hashbrowns. Potatoes are grated and seasoned with garlic and onion powder and salt and pepper, then onions are chopped and fried, then the potatoes (I like to use baked potatoes) are added along with a generous helping of butter and then I let them cook while I add a bit of cut up apple. The apple is SO good when you give the whole thing a bit of extra salt. Oh My god.... it's been way too long since I had hashbrowns! I may have to go home and make some for dinner.

i dont' really like breakfast--just coffee.
i do like eating cold pizza, or sometimes leftovers from the night before.
if i have to have it, i like the "breakfast of champions": toasted bagel with melted cheddar (old is best), a slice of tomatoe, some mayo and salt/pepper.
yummy.

Old-fashioned oatmeal is my favorite but I've recently been mixing 3/4 cup chocolate soy milk with 3 Tablespoons of cream of wheat and 2 packages of Splenda. Microwave for 3 minutes (stirring every minute). Let stand till thickened, cooled to taste, etc. 5 WW Points (for those counting) and worth every chocolately bite. Gotta get your chocolate everywhere you can!

Smooth peanut butter from my co-op, spread thickly on Kinnickick sunflower/flax seed bread (gluten free), with a glass of calcium-enriched orange juice. I eat this every single day....

I love your North Star mittens. As much as I want to believe that it is still Fall, I think that it is getting to be mitten weather. I always have vanilla yogurt with grape nuts for breakfast, it is delicious and brought my hemoglobin up from a 10 to a 15 (okay maybe not single handedly).
